Charles Allen Stillman (1819-1895) originally delivered this address to an anniversary celebration of Columbia Theological Seminary in 1881. Published in 1884, it sums up the calling of the minister, particularly his work of preaching God s word. Anyone involved in pastoral ministry will be edified by Stillman's words.
